from i would say the tennessee river valley, chattanooga to huntsville in to new orleans and southeast texas, this area could get another one to three inches of rain today. we have a tropical connection down here. our winds in the upper levels of the atmosphere have shifted off the gulf of mexico. that's pushing all of the rain up this side of the 57lations. a warmer humid air mass and it is on top of us. so we can feel the humidity. we don't have any triggers in the atmosphere to dump the rain on us. that's a good thing. we are getting by with a humid sky but not necessarily the torrential rain. good job today pinpointing the rain across the eastern side of virginia. that's the target, taking it in to delmarva, later today northern neck. as we show you the forecast, throughout the day today, mostly cloudy and in to tomorrow, again, clouds around. a stray shower is possible. but toward the end of this time period look at what happens as we head in to friday. this clearing line comes down from the north. that's the trend for the friday forecast. all right. 83 today. tonight we will touch down

yesterday texas was 101 degrees. our temperature here feels like it's 87 degrees. good news is as i showed you earlier, a look at georgia and alabama. even though there is still overall circulation, the rains at least have ended in some spots. it's still raining. jackson, mississippi, right now nasty thunderstorms. into parts of louisiana. at least where the folks have been hit so hard around atlanta and parts of georgia, it is not raining, although there will be maybe a few scattered showers for us. we've seen some clouds build up. the only area of showers is well out to our west. out in parts of garrett county. the other patch out there around the mountains of western virginia, i think, died out. that is it. our temperatures into the 80s. even the low 90s. while we are looking at warm sunshine, let me show you what they were looking at. this is the harbor bridge in sydney, australia, where it has been reduced to visibility of only a few feet because of an unusual dust storm. folks are walking around with masks in parts of australia. look at the view from space. t
